Social Media Resources
"Like many, I was not interested in using Twitter for professional development. I'm not much of a social media person in general and I didn't really see the value of what 140 characters could bring. I couldn't have been more wrong. Since joining the Twitter community in Spring of 2014, I have come across countless resources that I would have probably missed had I not been a part of this great online community. These resources have been invaluable in my own professional development and advocacy for the profession.
I make it work by 'favoriting' tweets on my phone throughout the day and then spending time, every day or every other day, on my computer to review them in more detail and visit the links. I suggest starting small by following a few accounts (such as @SHAPE_America and @supportREALtchr). You can also find physical education related posts and accounts using #physed. Whether you are on the fence or previously have not been interested, I highly recommend creating an account" (Kevin Shephard).
