Teaching is a professional vocation with moral and ethical responsibilities. Just as doctors and nurses take an oath to remind them of their obligations, stakeholders of quality physical education should do the same. Inspired by the Florence Nightingale Pledge and written by Cathrine Himberg, the REAL Teacher's pledge is such a reminder. It was originally used in teacher education programs during graduate commencement ceremonies but has since included others who want to commit or reaffirm their commitment to being and/or supporting REAL teachers. This includes parents, administrators, students, health professionals, and other community members. Please take a moment to read and/or take the appropriate pledge; and don't forget to download your certificate!
