Fitness Testing Tools
Fitness testing is becoming more and more important as states mandate testing to evaluate student fitness levels. While fitness is only one of many important outcomes of a quality physical education program, teachers can take advantage of testing by using the results to help their students improve health related fitness components.

Fitness Goals Template
The following templates are used by students to record their Fitnessgram results and develop goals/plans to either increase or maintain their fitness levels. We have ones created for SMART-C goal setting or COST goal setting. Choose your preference.
Use the arrows to advance through the slides. | Fitness Project
Used in conjunction with the Fitness Goals Template, this project can help students achieve their fitness goals. The self management concepts are taken from Fitness for Life (Corbin, C. & Lindsey, R., 2007). Teaching self management behaviors has been shown to promote increased physical activity in youth more effectively than teaching students about the benefits of physical activity. Download and modify the Fitnessgram Project as you see fit.

Fitnessgram Quick Facts
| President's Challenge Quick Facts |
It is important for both the administration and the students that the fitness tests be conducted according the guidelines. For test results to be valid, tests must be administered correctly each time, regardless of who is scoring the student. This is especially important if the students are using their results to help set personal goals. This quick fact sheet can be used by both teachers and students as a reminder of what to look for when testing. Modify the fact sheet according to the tests your school administers.
